Seeking Crew and Home for Etchells 30 in San Diego

Hello, fellow sailors!

My name is Robert, and I’m currently living in Orange County. I have an Etchells 30 that I'd like to get in the water and start practicing with. Given the specific niche these boat requires, I’m putting this call out to the sailing community. After a couple of years sailing a slower boat, I’m eager to step up my game and potentially race an Etchells. I’m looking for a permanent home for the boat, and San Diego seems like the perfect place with its vibrant sailing scene and passionate crews who can join this adventure.

About Me:

I’ve been sailing for a few years now, coming from sailing a Columbia 23 (which I jokingly call a bathtub on the water). I sold that boat and acquired this Etchells 30 to see if we can go faster. I've never raced these boats and would love to practice in hopes of racing it one day. I am extremely passionate about sailing , and would be dedicated to practicing regularly even if it means driving long distance.

What I’m Looking For:

Boat Home in San Diego: A marina that offers easy crane in-and-out water access since my current location in Newport Beach doesn’t have the necessary facilities. San Diego has a vibrant racing community, which is ideal.
Racing Opportunities: Regular participation in local races and regattas.
Crew Members: Enthusiastic sailors who are interested in sharing the boat, racing, and meeting new members together.

About the Boat:

Model: 30-foot Etchells
Condition: The boat has no damage, and the paint is in great condition.
Maintenance Needs: The lines might need to be replaced, and a few additional updates may be required.
Keel and Mast: The keel is in great shape with no cracks or damage, and the mast is also in excellent condition. The mast will need to be craned into position.

What I Offer:

Potential to Be Raced: The boat has great potential but needs some work as it has sat covered up for 20 years. With the right effort and care, it can be race-ready.
Shared Experience: I’m open to sharing the boat with like-minded individuals who are passionate about sailing and racing.
Community and Support: Join a dedicated and growing team /Club aiming to make a mark in the local sailing scene.
